*Get organized.
1. Write down the names and application deadlines of every school where you are even CONSIDERING applying.
2. Find out if the school you're applying to require a seperate scholarship application. You can find out this information on the school's website or by calling their admission office.
3. Ask for letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, coaches, bosses, etc.
*Ask me for a transcript request form.
*Take the September and/or October ACT.
1. Check the counselor's office or www.actstudent.org for registration deadlines.
2. Ask for a fee waiver if you receive free/reduced lunch.
3. If you are trying to get the Bright Flight Scholarship, you can take the test up until July 2011 to qualify (30 or 31 composite on the ACT).
*Attend College Info Night

*Sign up for any college visits outside the counseling office
*Visit your college(s) of interest with family and friends
November-December
*Attend Financial Aid Information nights at Paseo (Dates to be Determined)
*Apply to schools on your final list
1. Keep copies of everything you send. Print applications if submitted online.
2. Fill out a transcript request form and get that back to me.
3. Check with each college to see if a seperate scholarship application is needed.

*Apply for a FAFSA PIN at www.pin.ed.gov. You need one and so does one of your guardians.
*Talk with your parents about how you'll finance your education. Go to www.fafsa4caster.ed.gov for an estimate of how much federal student aid you'll qualify to receive.
